Jericoacoara (Jeri) is a remote beach town in northeast Brazil that has become one of the world's top kitesurfing destinations. The SE trade winds blow consistently from July through December, and the area is dotted with flat-water lagoons that form between the sand dunes when it rains. These temporary lagoons offer some of the most photogenic kitesurfing conditions anywhere — shallow, flat, crystal-clear water surrounded by sand dunes and palm trees. The town has no paved roads and a barefoot, bohemian atmosphere.
