Watersports in Sardinia, Italy

Mediterranean wind meets Caribbean water — Italy's best-kept watersports secret

Sardinia is Italy's second-largest island and home to some of the Mediterranean's most beautiful beaches and best wind conditions. The Mistral (northwest wind) can blow 20–35 knots for days, particularly along the north and west coasts. Porto Pollo in the Strait of Bonifacio is a world-class windsurf and kite spot, while the island's south coast offers excellent surf when Atlantic swells refract into the Mediterranean. The water is crystal-clear and impossibly blue.
