Watersports in Masirah Island, Oman
Masirah Island lies off the southeast coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea. From May to September the Khareef (southwest monsoon) delivers brutally consistent 25–40 knot winds, making it one of the windiest places on Earth during summer. The island is remote, undeveloped, and virtually empty — a stark contrast to the crowded kite beaches of Europe. Miles of white sand beach, warm water, and flat-water lagoons behind the reef make it a raw, adventure-style watersports destination.
Best Season
May to September (Khareef monsoon for wind). October to April (milder, some swell).

Exposed east side with reef breaks and stronger swell. Wave kiting and wave sailing when the Khareef is pumping.
Shallow lagoon behind the reef on the north end. Flat water and strong wind. Very remote — bring supplies.
Small fishing village with beach access. Mellower wind in the lee of the hills. Good for recovery days.
